How To Identify Qualified LPG Cylinders

There is a metal ring or metal sheet at the connection between the cylinder valve and the cylinder body. This is the inspection ring (card) for regular inspection of the cylinder. The inspection ring (card) indicates the next inspection time, and can be used continuously during this period.

LPG Gas Cylinder
Sometimes we will encounter a cylinder without inspection ring (brand), is it a qualified cylinder? The steel cylinders that have not been inspected may be newly manufactured and used for less than four years, and have not undergone the first inspection, so there is no inspection ring (brand).

So how to judge whether this cylinder is new? The factory date and expiration date of the cylinder will be displayed on its guard. For example, the steel stamp on the guard shows "2021.05-2029.04", which means that the cylinder is manufactured in May 2021 and designed to be used until April 2029. The cylinder will be used until April 2025, and it needs to be sent to a qualified inspection unit for inspection. Before April 2025, it is normal that this cylinder does not have a test ring (card), but since May 2025, there is no ring (card), indicating that it is an expired bottle.
